Adrienne Moumin

Artist/Photographer

Biography

I am a visual artist based in New York, NY and Silver Spring, MD. I work in hand-printed B&W photography and handmade photo collage. I am best known for my Architextures photo collage series, ongoing since 2000. This self-taught genre combines my B&W analog photography with hand-cut collage techniques, and is inspired by architecture and urban landscapes. Geometric abstraction through repetition of images is key to my approach.

My work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions since 1997, in New York and throughout the US.

Press coverage includes Hyperallergic; The Washington Post; and New York Gallery Guide.

I was awarded 2016, 2021 and 2023 Artist Grants by the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County (MD), as well as 2021 and 2022 grants from the Maryland State Arts Council.

My work is in public and private collections throughout the US and Europe.
