Each work in this series represents a significant point in my life, rich with meaning and memories of a time and place that helped shape the woman I am today.
Ranging from King Point’s survey of the south Florida landscape near the place where my Father lived (from film shot shortly after my Mother’s death in 1996), to Center Curves Squared and Corsage (both from film shot in 2000 at Longwood Gardens, in the early days of dating my long-term partner), there is a commemorative aspect embedded in each work.
Finally, Anywhere You Go, created at the height of the pandemic when I sheltered in Maryland and my heart ached for New York, represents the ongoing conflict between nature and urbanity. Eight identical prints of the glass canopy over the doorway of 21 E. 63rd St. in Manhattan, are arranged in a symmetrical arabesque, which hovers above a circular arrangement of 57 flowers from that same early-dating trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.
